Whatever the weather, the litter generated by the people who attend your event will be collected, sorted, whatever can be, will be recycled and the rest will be disposed of in the most cost-effective manner possible.

Not only do we do care about the planet and recycle what we can but we care about our people too. We train them, and any volunteers, that may work with us, in fact even though this is a dirty job, everyone who works with us gets treated with respect and courtesy.

We have strict company policies against anti-social behaviour, so none of the people working with, or for, Litterpickers.com will become a problem for event organisers.

What you get when you engage Litterpickers.com for your festival

Your day will start and end with a clean site. We ensure that the bins get emptied regularly and hot spots are given extra attention.

You’ll get a great company with the experience to know what to do, when and how to do it to make sure litter won’t become a problem.

If you want, we can take care of all the details concerning collection and removal of rubbish including liaison with the local authority.

You’ll also get a crew of litter pickers that are friendly, polite, uniformed and who work together like a well-oiled machine.

We usually arrive at the site the day before the event starts and set up bins. If recycling is required, we set up the recycled waste collection points (with appropriate identification for each bin), take delivery of bins and/or skips (depending on what’s needed and ordered). We will locate the food skips, roll on-roll off skips and the recycling sorting area in the most appropriate places.

Once people attending the event begin to arrive, we recruit the volunteers, organise their accommodation, food, and hygiene needs and train them in what is required of them.

Starting at 6 am and running throughout each day of the event, until around 8 pm, we’ll pick the site clean. We’ll manage the emptying of the bins and removal of rubbish where ever we might find it.

Some areas, like around the food stalls, the arena and backstage areas will be targeted to be cleaned at specific times to ensure that those areas are spotless when they need to be.

We clean around personal property like cameras, mobile phones, alcohol, clothing, etc. left in the non-public areas. Your property doesn’t become ours just because we “found it”.

We’ll even cover the camp grounds and car parks if required. And depending on your needs, we can do it like we do at Glastonbury, we’ll clean up the roadways around the festival site so your neighbours don’t complain about stuff blowing around or rubbish strewn everywhere.

What we need from event organisers

To keep your event costs down and still get the job done, we’ll need a number of volunteers who will get entry to the festival as well as regular “feeding and watering” as payment for their participation in the clean-up efforts. We closely monitor the participation of volunteers so festival organisers get value for the money spent.

Because litter picking is a dirty job, we’ll all need access to showers, and of course as with armies of all types, our litter picking army also “moves on its stomach”, so we will need to be fed three times a day!

Rubbish has to be taken away from the main activity areas for the festival goers, so depending on the site conditions, access to a tele-handler and/or tractor and trailer and/or truck will be necessary.

If your event requires sorting of the recyclable waste, we’ll need to have 10+ panels of Harries fencing as well as 10+ pallets for the sorting area on hard standing ground.
