About

The Festival is on

As a long time festival goer and worker, Dave Drury recognised the need for a dedicated crew to deal with the mountain of litter generated at each festival.

Imagine this – the average person attending an event generates 2.44 lbs of rubbish a day. Multiply that by 100 people and that’s 244 lbs. or 17.4 stone, the weight of a whole person, a large person of rubbish in only one day!

You do the numbers,  multiply 2.44lbs per day by the number of (maybe 10,000+ ) people at your event and you have a major job on your hands!

Having seen how different people handle (or not, as the case may be!) this situation, Dave thought there must be a better way.

So 3 years ago he set up Event Services Waste Management (ESWM) and together with his ‘partners in grime’ – Neal and Simon – has been working hard ever since to supply the best possible waste management solutions for a variety of different events.

For the three years ESWM, now Litterpickers.com has been around, Dave has managed the collection and removal of waste, with a 100% clear-up rate, at nine major events:

The mess people make!

Glastonbury Festival

Sunrise Celebration Festival

The Secret Garden Party and

Wakestock Festival – just to name a few.

Dave has also managed the setting up, dismantling and clearing-up of a number of 1-3 day local events around West Wales.

In early 2010, Dave streamlined the company and took on the name of Litterpickers.com to make it easier for people to recognise the company and remember who did such a great job of clearing the sites of festivals, shows and events.

Because of his hands-on attitude, Dave gets the respect of his crew as well as an incredible amount of work from them. His staff is dedicated and thorough. But it’s his attitude of “if there’s a problem lets work it out” that ensures a happy working environment for all concerned, everyone from the event organisers to the volunteers.

Clean again!

Clean again!

Although not everyone wants to “get their hands dirty”, Dave gets considerable satisfaction Recycling and problem solving skills and working with his professional team to turn places Strewn with the rubbish back into green fields. His approach is always professional, effective Efficient. His people skills are being recognized across the festival scene.
